TODAYS FIRE RATING

TOTAL FIRE BAN

Effective at noon on Wednesday July 18th 2018, a total Fire ban is in effect throughout the Coastal Fire Centre's jurisdiction. The recent high temperatures have increased the wildfire risks in the region to extreme.

NO open fires will  be permitted, along with the use of tiki torches, burn barrels, fireworks, sky lanterns and binary exploding targets.

What is allowed are: CSA or ULC - rated cooking stoves or portable campfires that use liquid fuel, gas, propane, or briquettes, with a maximum flame height of 15cm (about 6").

Local governments may still have their own burning restrictions in place, so people should always check with local authorities before lighting any fire of any size.
